I was just wondering whether there is any university in Malaysia that offers courses that are related to the nuclear field...Last time i checked, we have 150 scientists, 50 of whom have PhDs in nuclear science and energy, while others at least has a Masters degree. Would that be enough? Are we ready??
We are almost there, if our youngsters are as committed as you are.
ReplyDeleteSo far we only have nuclear science programme in UKM. Not really qualified enough for real engineering aspect of nuclear power generation and other non-power technology. But anyway, UKM nuclear science dept always having collaboration with Malaysian Nuclear Agency for the education, training and research. Yet, for this time being there are still no official nuclear engineering education and training yet. In fact, nuclear related job i.e. in the field of reactor technology, isotope production, neutron science science and technology (SANS, neutron radiography etc), nuclear instrumentation R n D are still not widely available yet except in Nuclear Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteBut I believe, we are heading toward there, as far as I concern, UTM and UNITEN would most probably establish the school of nuclear engineering in the near future.
